Give Thanks

Thanksgiving reminds us of our blessings each year. The blessing of food when others must go hungry. The blessing of warmth when others must find shelter during the cold. The blessing of family when there are those who are alone and depressed. The blessing of health when there are many who are suffering. The blessing of happiness when others are amidst crisis and pain.

We take alot for granted. It's easy to do so when you become accustomed to a comfortable lifestyle. Thanksgiving is a time to thank God for all that He has provided you. Your shelter, food, your family and your health.

Practice random acts of kindness this week - pay for the car behind you in the drive-thru line, tell someone that they look beautiful, thank a service person for their dedication to our country, call that relative that you haven't spoken to in the last year (or ten!), say a prayer for your neighbor, teacher or mailman, volunteer your time running errands for the elderly, bake something sweet for the senior center nearby, listen to your mother-in-law or friend or cousin as they vent about their own struggles this season.....anything you do for someone else matters. No matter how small!

There are so many ways you can brighten another person's day and make them feel loved. It not only makes them feel special but will also remind you of your own blessings this Thanksgiving. Spread the love!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from mine,

Love, Lisa
